For over 18 years, Samantha has worked with children as young as 12 months and as mature as 83 years old in various roles as a behavior therapist, advocate, and counselor. She has worked with military service members and their families, human trafficking survivors, at-risk teens, and foster homes. Samantha is currently working towards her graduate certification in Applied Behavior Analysis and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a specialty in Forensic Psychology. She has taught psychology courses at various colleges in Houston, TX, and Killeen, TX, and finds joy in playing funny YouTube videos to highlight the principles of psychology.
She has additional credentials as a Provisional Credentialed Advocate with the National Advocate Credentialing Program (NACP), intensive training in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), and focusing on Safety and Crisis Planning aspects with high-risk clients. Her counseling style includes connecting fun games to mental health principles (Yes! Actual Games!), utilizing person-centered techniques and behavior principles. Her focus is to help individuals find joy in their strengths and identify aspects of self-awareness and mindfulness practices. Samantha enjoys working with teens, young adults, and young children and will often have enough energy to outlast them ALL! Her goal is to keep up with the latest TikTok dances and show others that bouncing back from trauma is reachable!
For 2022 and beyond, she is looking forward to growing with the Hope Seed Family as they continue to expand rapidly and provide quality, dedicated counseling and “HOPE” to all populations across the Greater Houston Area.
