Shared Hope Grief Support

What is Grief Care?

Many of us face different types of loss and grief throughout our lives. Loss does not always mean death, nor is grief specific to losing a loved one.

Grief can come in many forms and for many reasons. However, having people to share the burden of your grief can profoundly affect your ability to cope and recover from whatever type of loss you are experiencing.

Some types of grief can include:

  • Loss of connection with family and friends.

  • Loss of a relationship.

  • Loss of income or a job.

  • Loss of a home due to divorce, move, or fire.

  • Loss of a loved one.

  • Or many other types of grief or loss.

Common grief reactions include:

  • Shock, disbelief, or denial

  • Anxiety

  • Distress

  • Anger

  • Periods of sadness

  • Loss of sleep and loss of appetite

Shared Hope provides the resources, skills, and support you need to recover from any grief or loss. We want you to know you are not alone. Please fill out the form if you would like to join a group session. Spaces are limited.

I am compassionate and resilient. My mom died when I was 13. I helped my dad raise my two younger brothers, who were 4 and 6 when she passed. And so began my novice journey of guiding, supporting and serving others.

I am a New Orleans native and was a military wife for 12 years. I’m a certified Texas educator, working with special needs students. I am proficient in reading, writing and implementing individualized education programs. I counsel from the cognitive behavioral therapy approach. I have experience utilizing play therapy with elementary age children, helping them express their emotions and feelings in a safe environment. I also work with students and adults of all ages.

As a Christian counselor, I seek to embody the characteristics of love, honor, faith, compassion and humility. I applaud you for taking the step to utilize therapy as a resource for a more fulfilling existence. It’s important you invest time in yourself. You should be fully living the Gift of life. You are worth the effort; let me help you do the work.
